ditch the dirt

If you know me, you know I adore plants and flowers, trees and soft grass, etc....

so when the backyard of our new home had large patches of dirt scattered freely... laying down fertilizer and seed was a no-brainer.

It was, and still is alot of work... keeping a nice looking yard isn't easy, but it will be so worth it when all is said and done!

Plus! We already have some new growth sprouting!! :)

the night sky

We sat outside last night gazing up at the eerie sky, illuminated by the moon and haunted by the clouds that silently tiptoed onward

It was beautiful...

ROAD TRIP

Better late then never, right?

The day I got in, the family, babe and I went to a nice dinner - obviously it was around the 4th of July so after my parents said their goodbyes, we had a little packing to do and then we drove around the small neighborhoods holding hands and enjoying the little firework shows the neighborhoods had on display.

The next day we had a sporadic change of plans (YOLO) so we went to lunch and ran some errands, along with the babe getting one of her tattoos finished.
This was such a great trip. We got a hotel the night before we left so we could get up and get on the road early...

the girls were SO good - I couldn't have asked for them to behave any better!

OW! you know what this is right?!

About half way in we decided (another random change in plans) to get another hotel. Prank phone calls, "crazy" alarms, and a hardcore laugh attack during an attempted massage made this hotel stay a memorable one! lol

"...and i got up and handled business"

so green and lush

Don't ever let go <3

As mentioned before, if I get a chance to post more I certainly will... I left out alot due to time constraints!! busy busy busy!

sunflowers&sunshine

This past week, it was a necessity to stop and attempt to capture how beautiful this was.

Soon I plan to go back with my actual camera and take some real pictures ;)

work'n doughnuts

A few days after I returned from my work trip, I had to turn around and drive a few hours for another work event...
There is a big university there and I have to say it was pretty neat.

Aside from the city, the venue we were at was remarkable - I wished I had time to take pictures!

I managed to snap just a few...

When all was said and done - as eager as I was to get back to the comfort of home

I spied a KK - and had to grab some goodies to take home!

One of the many items I picked up at the craft/trade days....

wet weather

It's been raining alot here and as you all know, I am completely fine with that :)

This past week babydoll and I watched a few beautiful storms roll in from our adorable back patio (pictures on this to come!) but yesterday was truly craaaaay!! It wasn't storming. Just  pouring as I made my way back. The roads were completely flooded, it looked and felt like driving through a lake!!!

I silently and quickly prayed the water wouldn't damage my vehicle lol

Despite the craziness of yesterday's wet weather...

There's something about a rainy day motivates me, inspires me... and brings a little piece of happy into my world :)

wine journal

The idea here is to write on your wine corks the night you finish the bottle: the date, who you were with, what you did, etc. (you can write as little or as much as you want)

then -- at a future date, open them and reminisce as you look back at your captured memories.

I decided to wrap mine in a cute paper and tie them shut for a fun, quirky shell...

Very easy to make, and a great idea if you are an avid wine drinker like myself!

bubbles in the park

Forever ago, when first together...

Meet Diamond:

umm... adorable, right?

As she got older, and bigger - with more energy than we knew what to do with - we started finding creative and fun ways to allow her to release all of her energy.

What stuck, was my idea to buy non-toxic bubbles and see if she would chase them...

Of course she did - and still does!
