Ani Difranco
I stumbled upon Ani Difranco again.
I used to listen to her all the time.
Thought I would share some of my favorites:
Ani Difranco - Fuel
Ani Difranco - Gravel
Ani Difranco - Untouchable Face
Ani Difranco - As Is
Samoan Sand
My most recent nude polish.
OPI describes it as "A warm beige-pink."
When I first used it, I thought it was going to be a bit too pink/peach for my liking. After a few days of wearing it, I started to warm up to it.
I still prefer my Essie - Sand Tropez as my favorite nude, but Samoan Sand is a nice addition to my collection.

Airforce Museum
The second museum we visited with the babes family was the Airforce Museum.
It was kind of cool to see all the old planes, bunks, and equipment.
I actually really wanted a few of the old jackets they had on display ;-)

You're the reason I come home
"Watching you watching me
A fine way to fall asleep
The neighbors fight as we both rest our eyes
Hands in the fallen snow
Numb to the winter cold but we don't mind 'cause we'll get warm inside
You're the reason I come home
You're the reason I come home my love
You're the reason that when everything I know falls apart
You're the reason I come home
Paper doll silhouettes
Fingertips on window glass
The street's asleep so I breathe you in deep
The tragedies of chemistry
People dream of what you and me have found effortlessly
You're the reason I come home
You're the reason I come home my love
You're the reason that when everything I know falls apart
You're the reason I come home
And for a long time I remember saying prayers for something perfect
Saying prayers for someone kind
It's in my head
We're spinning circles down the avenues instead
You're the reason I come home
You're the reason I come home my love
You're the reason that when everything I know falls apart
You're the reason I come home."

Suite Life
It seems the babes and I attend a lot of minor league baseball games.
Sometimes we get tickets given to us, and other times the company has an event or something going on...

False Fiber Lashes
A girlfriend of mine bought the Younique Moodstruck 3D Fiber Lashes and let me try it out.
Let me just say: I was totally impressed.
I struggle with spending $29 on mascara, since it goes bad so quickly :-/
So when I seen this new L'Oreal Voluminous False Fiber Lashes mascara for $9, I had to see if it compared.
I wouldn't say it's as good as the Younique - but I would say it's better than alot of mascaras I've tried - and for the same price as most other drugstore mascaras too.
It's definitely made it's way to one of my favorites.

all white everything
My favorite color has always been white.
My large white rug, my duvet cover, sheets, and pillowcases, my cute little french bulldog statue, the large canvas in my bedroom... lampshades,...all white...
Something about a (mostly) soft, white room - I've always loved.
Something about a (mostly) soft, white room - I've always loved.
I bought some throw pillows to try and bring a small pop of color into the room. I love the pillows, and they will go great with a tapestry I acquired from when my sister passed away (I haven't hung it up yet). I love a neutral white/golden base with random, small accents of rich, deep colors.... and also anything anthropologie puts together for home decor ;-) lol
Another inspiration is the Free People stores.... I wish I could LIVE in them. I totally dig the style, and want a boho room similar to the ambiance of the stores... full of cute knobs, shelves, and obvious DIY craft projects - with earthy vibes and twinkly lights to mellow it out :)
French bulldog statue and the lucky cat babes bought me in Japan.

Autumn Leaves
Ed Sheeran - Autumn Leaves
"Do you ever wonder if the stars shine out for you?
Float down,
Like autumn leaves
Hush now,
Close your eyes before the sleep...
And you're miles away
And yesterday, you were here with me"

Petroleum Museum
In July, we decided take a weekend and visit a few museums.
The first museum we visited was the Petroleum Museum.
We were kind of bummed because half of the museum was closed for remodeling, so we bought the discounted tickets and decided to check out what we could anyway.
Getting to see the Minerals was my favorite part... I took WAY too many pictures that didn't do them justice!
They had a bunch of race car stuff I thought was kind of random lol
All the different kinds of rigs used.

We Don't Eat
"If this is redemption, why do I bother at all?
There's nothing to mention, and nothing has changed
Still I'd rather be working for something, than praying for the rain
So I wander on, until someone else is saved
I moved to the coast, under a mountain
Swam in the ocean, slept on my own
At dawn I would watch the sun cut ribbons through the bay
I'd remember all the things my mother wrote
That we don't eat until your father's at the table
We don't drink until the devil's turned to dust
Never once has any man I've met been able to love
So if I were you, I'd have a little trust"

Tubing San Marcos
This past weekend a large group of us camped and went tubing in San Marcos.
It was roughly a 4 hour float, and it was a blast.
There were so many people on the water, and our group was pretty huge. It was one of the guys birthdays in our group - so everyone made it a point to sing Happy Birthday to him multiple times on the float.
Also, at the end of the float there was a rope swing.
I swung from the highest perch. Definitely worth it!!
Not everyone camped, since we had peeps in our group from Austin and Houston - some drove back to Austin instead of camping, while the rest of us stayed and left in the morning.
I picked up this adorable white floppy hat from Sun&Sand before the trip. It was the perfect accessory for the river.
I was glad I had it.
**Obviously, I didn't get any pictures on the water, since I wasn't going to risk losing my camera or phone - but I did get a shot of my new hat!**

Routine Breakfast
Traveling is amazing...
But it does usually get you out of your normal routine in one small way or another.
Since being back (after the few weeks I was gone over the summer), I am quickly forcing myself back into a routine -- to get ready for the busy upcoming work season.
A new breakfast I've been loving is this rolled oat/protein powder mix using my blender bottle.
Since I don't have a lot of time in the mornings, this is a great, quick, on-the-go breakfast!!
Sometimes I skip the protein powder... I also like just the oats and water!
(Typically I accompany this with a fruit on the side)

Bouffant Babe
I always go back&forth about chopping my hair off....
BUT.....
I do enjoy playing with it and being able to do fun things with it!
*For this look, I just did a simple bouffant to give me some volume up top. Then, to spice it up a bit and complete and compliment the look of the outfit I was wearing - I added the black sash but kept the sash concealed it in the front!

*tink*
A few months back I got turned on to her music, I quite like her voice and chill style.
She's got a handful of songs that are worth listening to:
Tink - Love me like somebody
Tink - Time
Tink - Bonnie and Clyde
Tink (ft. Jeremih) - Don't tell Nobody

Shellac
I had bought a kit a long while back to do my own Shellac
(of course, it was a cheaper, drugstore kit -- so it was no where near the quality of professionals)
Then recently, a few girlfriends and I went to the salon - and they talked me into trying Shellac.
I loved it.
It allowed me to keep my own nails, not ruin them - yet provide me with some more strength so they wouldn't break as easy.
Well, I wasn't going to pay $45 bucks every time I wanted my nails done - and $50 every time I wanted my toes done....
So I caved.
Because of my manicuring license I was able to get this for a reasonable price.
I've done my hands and feet multiple times now - It's already paid for itself!!
I bought a deep red, a bright pink, a dark (almost black) purple, and a nude color. I also picked up a white and clear :)
These pics don't really do it justice. I am going to try and be better about getting pics of my weekly manicures!
I've loved it so far - My next attempt will be a french manicure with Shellac!!
:-D

Cascadia 9
For our most recent adventure - I knew I needed a new pair of shoes.
My significant other has gotten me into hiking, but I don't have the proper shoes for it.
Which sucks.
We had planned a jungle trek for the vacation and I knew there would be a few days of hiking, so I wanted to get a good pair of shoes to take.
I'm pretty sure there isn't a trail/hiking/running shoe on the market that's stylish and practical - so I decided to go with comfort over anything else.
After days of research - I decided on the Brooks Cascadia 9
It's a lightweight shoe, that dries relatively quick, has good traction, toe protection, and cushion for comfort.
Another purchase that was definitely worth the money.
