Henna
I've somewhat gotten back into something that my sister and I used to do back in high school.
It had been forever since I had done it, but I was glad when I decided to purchase some and go for it.
I've been loving the look of henna again.
I haven't gone crazy, the one on my foot was probably the biggest thing I've done so far - and I don't know if I really cared for it. I think I prefer simple lines, dots, designs/details, etc. vs an elaborate design when it comes to being on parts of me that are exposed.
While, the henna paste is kind of a pain to store and make... I think it's worth it when all is said and done :)

Dallas World Aquarium
This past weekend I took a long weekend, so Friday we went to the Dallas World Aquarium.
It was so neat!
I loved it.
I loved it.
We ate at Serious Pizza in Deep Ellum for lunch, and walked around for a little while to check out all of the murals that were painted on the brick buildings. It was a neat part of town, and the pizza was fantastic. They made the biggest pizzas ever!!! It was cool to see the guys tossing them.
Later, we did some shopping and ate at a BBQ joint for dinner.

I really enjoyed the long weekend, and felt lucky and thankful for the company kept :)

¡Viva Terlingua!
We left this past Saturday morning for the International Chili Cookoff in Terlingua.
We stopped at one of the many cotton patches on the way and I got to pick some cotton. It was surprisingly soft! :)
Once we arrived the drinking began...
We visited the old Terlingua cemetery which was really neat to see. There were really old graves, and the dia de los muertos celebration was held the night before - so there were all kinds of candles and decorations hung up. The little kids each colored a paper plate and decorated the outer portion with flowers. People left all kinds of things like skull heads, pan de dulces, and pictures. There were even childrens cowboy boots and a dog collar with a picture of a woman and her dog set out. It was touching to see how they honored those who had passed.
We grilled for dinner, and walked to the main stage to catch some of the winners being announced. It was a crazy night - with half naked women showing their breasts for beads, riding around in 4 wheelers and golf carts, and a party bus blaring music that we hopped on, dancing the night away. They also had a band that was playing, where lots of people were two stepping and enjoying themselves.
There were a ton of people!
We slept on the air mattress under the night sky, to wake up to a complete double rainbow.
It was an awesome weekend.

Halloween 2013
Halloween this year was a blast.
I don't have many pics of the big night, but here's a sneak of what we went as...
;-)
I also dressed up for work (kind of an ad-hoc costume for that this year lol), and passed out candy to the trick-or-treaters on Halloween night!
